Most couples meet, fall in love, marry and spend the rest of their lives cherishing what free time they have together. But in the field of design, there are professionals whose marital partnerships take a different slant; they also work together. Much has been written about the negative dynamics and ultimate failures married couples often experience when they share this sometimes stressful and always personal part of their live. Yet the three South Florida award-winning designing couples we profile on these pages defy the odds.

Beatrice Pila-Gonzalez and Carlos Gonzalez, Cecil Hayes and Arzell Powell, and Todd and Isabel Tragash are side by side practically 24 hours a day, seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between – and more of them would have it any other way.
